What is an aerobic treatment unit (ATU)?

An aerobic treatment unit (ATU) is designed specifically to treat wastewater through the use of oxygen, which supports aerobic bacteria that break down organic matter more efficiently than anaerobic bacteria found in traditional septic systems. This process leads to a more effective reduction of contaminants in the wastewater.
